Principal Dentists

Jane Clyne

Jane Clyne BDS

Jane has been enjoying working in Broughty Ferry since 2008. She is an experienced dentist with interests in teaching, restorative dentistry, paediatric dentistry, and facial aesthetics. Jane graduated from Dundee University in 2006.

As part of her postgraduate training Jane worked within the community dental service in Angus. She gained a wealth of experience treating children, patients with additional needs and provided special care dentistry and domiciliary care to her patients.

Following on her further postgraduate training Jane returned to Dundee Dental Hospital taking a post as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery and Paediatric Dentistry. During this time, she was also the dentist for patients who were hospitalised and often had complex needs. Jane took the decision to return to General Dental Practice whilst remaining part time in the Paediatric Department at Dundee Dental Hospital. She has been working alongside the consultants at Dundee in Dental Hospital for the past 12 years as Clinical Teaching fellow in Paediatric Dentistry, training undergraduate dental students and helping treat children who have been referred in by other dentists. This complements her work within our family practice ensuring our families receive the best of care.

In 2010 Jane trained under Dr Carol Macmillan in facial aesthetics at Ninewells Hospital. She has continued to train and update her skills in this area over the past decade.

In 2013 Jane undertook a 3-year Tipton Advanced Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry post graduate course dealing with the restoration of both teeth and dental implants. She has experience of working with implant specialists providing implant retained crowns, bridges and dentures.

Outside of the practice Jane loves spending time with her family she enjoys numerous sports and plays (poorly) for her local hockey team.

Ellie Ferguson

Ellie is an experienced dentist with interests in restorative dentistry, paediatric dentistry and orthodontics.


Ellie qualified in 2001 with an MA(Hons) and went on to study dentistry at Dundee University. She has been working alongside the consultants at Dundee Dental Hospital for the past 10 years as Clinical Teaching fellow in Paediatric Dentistry, helping treat children who have been referred in by other dentists and often have more complex needs. This complements her work within our family practice ensuring our families receive the best of care.


Ellie also as part of her role trains undergraduate dental students and has previously been a vocational trainer helping young graduates start their career in dental practice.
Ellie has completed the 2-year consultant led orthodontic course with Jonathan and Alison Sandler and has an interest in orthodontics providing braces and Invisalign treatment within our practice.


She undertook the Straumann restorative course in 2011 and has experience of working with implant specialists providing implant retained crowns, bridges and dentures.


Outside of the practice Ellie loves to spend time with her family.

Mary Small, Associate Dentist

Mary Small

Mary joined our team in January 2018. She is originally from Broughty Ferry and was educated in Dundee for both school and university, graduating in 2002.
Prior to joining us, she worked for 15 years as a family dentist in Kirkcaldy where she gained vast experience in all aspects of general practice.

Mary has undertaken further training since her time here and is happy to be able to offer case-specific restoration of implants and Zoom in-surgery whitening.

Outwith work, she is a keen violinist, mainly playing scottish fiddle and ceilidh music.
She has 2 teenage children and spends most of her free time standing at the sidelines of a rubgy pitch.

Claire Laing

Claire has recently joined our practice. She is a welcome, new addition. She qualified as a Dentist in 2006 from Dundee and went to University with Jane. She has a keen interest in periodontology and sat the PerioAcademy Certificate course during lockdown. This trained her further in the diagnosis , assessment and treatment of gum disease and various surgical procedures.
Out of work, Claire has been a member of Carnoustie Musical Society since she was 11 years old and has had roles in many shows including Sunshine on Leith and Copacabana. She loves dogs and has a furbaby in the shape of a Golden labrador called Harris. He was named after the Isle she visited with her husband on honeymoon – and many times since.

Adam Lonsdale, Associate Dentist

Adam Lonsdale

Adam graduated from the University of Dundee in 2000.He spent the first years of his career in general practice in Glasgow. He then spent 10 years working in Edinburgh in the Community Dental Service at the Western General Hospital. During this time, he continued to work general practice.

Adam enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is experienced in fixed and removable prosthodontics. He enjoys going to post graduate courses to keep his knowledge up to date. He has also completed the Minor Oral Surgery course at Kings College London.

In his spare time Adam like to golf, paint and explore the Scottish mountains on his touring skis.

Judith Kirk

Judith has been a familiar face on our reception desk since 2005. When Judith is not dealing with our patients queries and manning reception she overseas various other admin duties within the practice. In her spare time she loves to spend quality time with her family and friends and helps look after her two beautiful grandchildren.

Lindsey Breen

 Lindsey joined the practice in 2015 as another valued member of our reception team. Lindsey previously worked in the public sector as a personal assistant/administrative officer. 

When Lindsey is not working she enjoys spending quality time with her family, going to music festivals and concerts and holidaying in the sunshine.

Sandra Roxburgh

Sandra has been with the practice since 2008, starting in the office but more recently becoming another familiar face on our reception desk. In her spare time Sandra enjoys socialising and walking her wee border terrier, Maud. Sandra also helps look after her four adorable grandchildren.

Head Dental Nurse

Tasha joined the team in May 2016 and has been a qualified Dental Nurse since completing her SQA L3 Dental Nursing and VRQ L3 Dental nursing City and guilds. When Tasha is not looking after our patient’s she enjoys spending time with her lovely little girl and family. Tasha is also a keen footballer and plays for her local team every Sunday.

Heather joined the team in 2018 and has been a dental nurse for over 20 years. And brings her years of experience to the practice. In her spare time heather is a keen cyclist and likes to keep fit.
