A significant amount of valuable clinical time is wasted when an appointment is not attended; time which could otherwise have been allocated for the treatment of other patients. CANCELLED appointments will not usually incur any charge, if we are informed within 24 hours of the appointment. If it is not possible to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the appointment time to someone else. When appointments are scheduled, we provide printed appointment reminders where appropriate/requested and offer both e-mail and SMS text reminders of any scheduled appointments. Please note, SMS text reminders are sent out of courtesy, not necessity. It is the responsibility of the patient to arrive on time for an appointment. Failure of the text messaging system for any reason is not sufficient reason for failing to attend or arriving too late for treatment. This charge is a deterrent and repeated failures are not acceptable. Any charges that a patient incurs as a result of any of the above would be £1 per minute of the scheduled appointment length. For example, if you fail a 15 minute appointment your charge will be £15 and so on. Under NHS treatment regulations, we reserve the right to withdraw future treatment from patients who fail to attend TWO appointments.
